LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington Sporting Club is proud to announce its youth Phase Directors for the upcoming season.

Phase Directors are responsible for overseeing certain stages of the player pathway structure, providing support for coaches and players within their segment of the model. It is the goal of the Phase Directors to help cement the Lexington Sporting Club culture and ensure the Club’s methodologies are implemented.

“The process of hiring Phase Directors has been a major piece of the puzzle," said Sporting Director Sam Stockley, "It adds an extra layer of support to our youth club structure for coaches, players and parents, as we’ll have another resource for the player placement program and talent identification, player development, coaching education, and communication.

"It was important for us to have specialists within each phase, but also find directors that have strong relationships within the community that will be ideal ambassadors for Lexington Sporting Club.”

Lexington Sporting Club has four phases in its structure: Skill Acquisition (U7-10), Technical Refinement (U11-12), Preparation (U13-15) and Pathway to Pro (U16-19). There will be two directors assigned to each phase on both the girls’ and boys’ side.

Throughout the week, we’ll share more detailed descriptions and goals for each of the four phases, beginning tomorrow (April 26) with the Skill Acquisition Phase.

Learn more about each Phase Director, and what Stockley has to say about each below:

Email - maldaba@lexsporting.com

Marcus Aldaba

Marcus Aldaba grew up in Dallas, Texas, where all he ever knew and loved was soccer. He mentioned that he could never see himself not being involved in the game. The coaches he grew up with taught him unique skills that he hopes to teach your children as well. What Marcus is most excited for is the “opportunity for the current young players in the Lexington area. Opportunity to not just train and play matches in a more professional environment, but also to get the opportunity to support a local team. The aim one day is for the current 7-to-10-year-olds to develop a fiber to want to play for the first teams here. Whether they have a professional career here at Lexington Sporting Club or use the Club as a stepping stone to go beyond, the kids will have the resources to do so. Over the past four years I have witnessed the game grow at a rapid rate in the state of Kentucky and the addition of this club will only further progress the game in Kentucky."

Sam Stockley: Marcus has built a fantastic reputation in our market for specializing in player development at the younger ages. He has a real desire to install the fundamentals and set players up for success. In all our conversations he has shown that he wants to unite the coaching community which is why he was perfect for this role.
